Week 1 Blog Post
This week in class we were introduced to the NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) which are the standards for science in Iowa and adopted in other states across the nation as well. I thought that the website had really good resources and lesson plans for my future science lessons in my classroom, which will be extremely beneficial. I primarily focused on a lot of 3rd grade lessons on the NGSS website since that is the age range I am hoping to teach. Additionally during our lab session on Wednesday in groups of 2, we designed our "dream" classroom (pictured above) with all components of what we would like to have in our classroom and our values, too. I'm excited to see where this course takes me, especially since I enjoy science!
